Hi kmjwpdesign,
It looks like your post was missed by others. Are you still having this issue with changing the header image in the Affinity Theme?
I ran a test and was able to change the header image myself by following these steps –
1. Visit wordpress.com/customize and select the site that you wish to customize (if you have more than one).
2. Click on Header Image and either select a previously uploaded image or a upload a new image.
3. It will likely ask you if you want to crop your image, you can select to do so or not. You will then see the flash and the image should be there.
4. You can click ‘Save and Publish’ at the top and this should solve this issue.
If it doesn’t, then please post how you are accessing your site (i.e. mobile/tablet vs PC) and what app or browser that you’re using.
Thanks,

Looks like you have a custom header, but it’s being overridden by your pages’ featured images. If you want to see the typewriter image currently set as your header image, try creating a page without a featured image.
Let us know how it goes.
