Header Image cropping issue

I just found a template that I LOVE .. except … it is cropping my business logo no matter how small I make the image. I know bubkiss about CSS and only a little HTML, but I can describe what I’d like to try to do. Can some generous soul help me by telling me if what I’d like to do is possible and/or suggest how I might go about doing it?

    My blog is: http://slingsavvy.wordpress.com/

The bottom tip of the “heart” part of the logo is cropped and I’d like it to show, ideally as a background image hangs down behind the text of the sidebar. Can I delete the image from the header and just set it as a background image that is aligned right/top?

If that won’t happen without a whole lot of work, any suggestions on how to keep the image from being cropped? I sized it down to 100×100 pix and it was still cropped… and way to small to get anyone’s attention.

    Thanks in advance!

My suggestion is, and always has been to crop and size your header image to the exact size in an image editing program before uploading it. That way, you don’t have to rely on the wordpress cropping feature, which I have never had much luck with.

    What is the exact size?

If you go to appearance > custom header image it will have the size for your theme listed there (if you are using a theme that supports a custom header). Each theme header is a different size.

Could you clarify what you are trying to achieve? At present the heart part of the logo is on the left, and doesn’t seem to be cropped. Do you want to remove that image altogether, and use only the heart part on the right, hanging into the right sidebar?
