Header Image for Solar Theme

  Just looking for a little help with designing my header image for use on the Solar theme. I’m using the recommended dimensions, but I don’t know where to align my words. When I upload the design, it’s all over the place. I tried putting it right in the center, then when I uploaded it, it was way over the right. Is there any more reading available on best practices for header images?

  Hi there!

  Solar is a responsive theme, this means that its design adapts based on the size of the screen it’s being viewed on. The dimensions of the image you upload as the theme’s header image, therefore, very much depend and change based on the device it’s being viewed on. With this in mind, I wouldn’t recommend including words within the header image: You might be able to get the words perfectly aligned for laptop viewers, but they would still be misaligned for mobile viewers.

  Instead, I’d recommend adding the words to the header area via the theme’s logo or site title and tagline. You can find the option to add these by firstly heading to My Sites, going to the Customize section for eyeonourhome.com, and then choosing Site Title, Tagline, and Logo:

  I can see you’ve already added a logo to your site there. :) If you’d like to further customise the positioning or size then you could do so with some custom CSS.
