Header Image Has Stopped Displaying Correctly

  • Unknown's avatar

My header image has suddenly stopped displaying correctly (it’s become too small) and I haven’t been able to get the “Manage” link to work for two weeks. What gives?

And yes, I have posted this same question to my blog so people will know I’m not the one behind the sudden design screw-up.

I clearly see your 3 photo header but I do not know if it’s smaller or not because the theme has been css customized. Have you checked your stylesheet and made adjustments? The 3 photo compilation header I see is exactly the same size as the text is so I can’t see a problem with it using firefox 2.0.0.4

Setting that aside, Volunteers answering forum questions do not have back end access to blogs. All technical “fixes” must be done by staff.

And if your “Manage” link has not been working for 2 weeks and, you failed to report this to staff then, how on earth would they know that you had a problem? Once again, technical fixes like this must be provided by staff.

Please describe in detail to staff what your problems are so they can address them http://wordpress.com/contact-support/

Time Thief, you are utterly useless to these forums. Don’t post unless you have an ACTUAL solution to a problem.

    Hi there,
We have spoken about this before. Volunteers cannot help as we have no back end access to blogs. Only staff can rectify the problems your blog seems to be having. Support is closed until after WordCamp.

Support will be closed Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday while the Automattic crew gathers in San Francisco in preparation for WordCamp 2007. We will re-open Monday morning around 9AM PDT.

Also for what it’s worth, I’m mentioning again that your blog appears to be displaying properly for me. I’m using firefox.

This is the second thread this morning you have posted to. The situation remains the same whether or not you choose to hurl insults at me.

As for the header image, it is the right size according to the file itself, but is being clipped a bit because of the admin bar and not showing the top of the image. Do you have a custom CSS upgrade semidi? If you do, it should be a simple fix to get the image to show below the admin bar when logged it. It looks fine to me (if that image is correct) when not logged out.

As well, what Manage link are you talking about? Just Admin => Manage? What is it doing and do you get an error?

On a related note, we are just trying to help out and don’t work for Automattic. Being mean to volunteers only here to try and help is not good for anyone, especially you.

Well I certainly hope the dudes at WordCamp enjoy themselves. Still it is a free service I suppose.
To the OP: Could you tell us did you edit the CSS? Have you had the upgrade or is that the default CSS for that theme? This is important.

  • The Manage problem was fixed after feedback was sent and the header issues are related to the use of custom CSS on this blog.

    @semidi — I would suggest checking your css…
