Header image image problem
-
I am trying to upload an image to customize the header. When I go – Presentation, then Custom Image Header, I see the Upload New Header Image box. I can click the “Upload >>” button but the “Choose File” button (and most of the row it’s in) it gray. There is a dashed, size-adjustable edit box.
My fiance was able to click the “Choose File” button on his work PC, but I am not. I am working on an Apple iBook, so I’m thinking that might be the problem.
Are there any customizable themes that are compatible with macs? Other tricks?
I’ve tried all the themes with customizable header images on here…
Thank you!!!

Agreed. It’s not a matter of you using a Mac, it’s a matter of using Safari as the browser has a number of issues (The big one is with the rich text editor which is called TinyMCE) and limited higher end support for some of the features of HTML, Javascript, etc.
And this is coming from someone who hates listening to “Why browser is better…” flame wars.

Do we not think it’s a bit remiss of WordPress not to have this function work on Safari, which is after all what most Mac users er use? Or at least put something up front to say “not fully compatible with’? Everything else seems to work fine (although I must admit my avatar has yet to appear anywhere, so maybe that’s something else which is Safari-glitchy!).

Would be better if Safari just supported javascript fully. It’s not a wordpress problem as it also exists with phpNuke, Gallery, Back-end, phpCMS, and many many other programs on the net.
I do note that the Safari developers have been working on better javascript support in 10.5
