Header image not upload
-
I have problem with uploading the header in theme Twenty Ten in jpg. I uploaded exactly the size required, the image can be seen in my computer, however, when I use on other computers the image cannot be seen. The image is Blank white with [X] at the left top.
Can somebody help me and tell me why?

Hmm. I see a top hat with a magic wand, a balloon bicycle, a balloon penguin, and stars among other things.

940 x 198
I see that in Safari and in Firefox. -
Is it possible that the other computers you are looking at have been to your site before you uploaded the header? If so, it might be that they have a cached version, and if you clear cache and cookies of those browsers the image should come up.
Other than that, I don’t know. sorry.

Thanks for your help. Some of my computers are using Internet Explorer.
This mean that internet explorer can’t view the image. I have deleted the cookies and cache in the internet explorer… clearing them did not work.. :(
Do this apply to other theme? or just theme Twenty Ten … :(

It’s not theme-specific. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with your header image, and it loads very quickly for me.
Are you using IE6? That can cause problems; you should update if that’s the case.

I have exactly the same problem described by linayippy using Mistylook by Sadish template. Have you solved it using gif format?
I’m worried the platform has issues with images on IE6.My blog is:

Your image probably won’t look so good with a gif. linayippy’s picture is very graphic, with text that would display better as a gif. Yours is more of a photograph—try what panos suggests:
72dpi and RGB colorOr better still: update explorer

@tavoleromane
IE6 is the most problematic browser there is. It’s 10 years old and Microsoft not longer supports it. They recommend upgrading. The browser usage stats are here and only 7.9% of those on the internet are still using it. http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp -
Hi! Thanks for help…
Yes. I am using IE6. I tried gif picture… and it works in all browsers include IE6. Though it doesn’t look good but i will fix that tomorrow by using 72dpi and RGB colour…
Thank you very much!

Thank you for the answers.
I just tried with other PCs using IE7 and Mozilla and they can’t see the header image while on my PC it works fine. It is already 72dpi and RGB color.
Any other suggestion? -
@linayippy
Ooo you are right: it looks bad.Did you start with your original illustration to make the gif or did you convert the jpeg to a gif?

@tavoleromane
I’m on macs so the latest ie was v5!!
so i can’t test ie7. what about ie8? -
Do you see correctly the header image?
As I wrote before I don’t think the cause is the IE version… -

Yes it’s the right image and the header is 760×190.
It’s really strange it is not possible to see it on some IE7 browsers, I’ll try to upload it one more time.Thanks for the “very nice” since I took and retouched the pics! :-)
