Header image quality with Dara theme. Slight blur? Why?

    Hey Guys,

    I have Dara theme setup for two sites:

    Pinpointmaps.org & Reeltime.co

    The images I upload to the header image are always slightly blurred and not as sharp as they would appear in a content section for example.

    Any idea why it blurs the images slightly?

    I’ve tried resizing to all the recommended sizes and have tried both PNG and Jpeg files.

    No luck!

    I feel it has to be something specific to the Dara theme.

    Any help would be fantastic!

    Hi Leo –

    Could you add a screen shot to your library of what you’re seeing? This will help me compare my testing to what you have seen.

    Also, are they blurry on mobile by any chance? Or is it just on desktop? What size is your monitor? Does it happen in other browsers too?

    The header images are also more blurry on mobile.

    My desktop is a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013) and mobile iPhone 5S.

    The WordPress support team said there were sometimes issues with Retina displays however the header images in my content are still being displayed at full quality.

    It still appears to be blurry in Google Chrome as well as Safari.

    Please do let me know how I can send screen shots of the difference in quality!

    Thank you for that information! It’s very helpful. The screen shot can be added to the media library on the site. From there I can pull it up to have a look and make comparisons.

    I’ve uploaded screenshots of the content (GitHub PinPoint) image and the header image to the media library.

    Do you think it could be something to do with the size of the image stretching that’ being uploaded?

    1180 X 558 PX. I then save the file at 3X the size to ensure better quality uploading too which is normally the trick.

    Yep. That is my first guess. I’m trying to take a closer look and do some testing now.

    Are you uploading through the desktop app or browser?
