Header image size with sela theme

  I am having trouble getting certain header images to go across the full width page, I think it may be because the image I am using isnt the correct proportion but cannot find what the ideal proportion is for this theme. Can you advise?

  The featured image on the front page and on pages works best with images at least 1180 wide.
  Featured Images for posts should be at least 820 wide by 312.

  P.S. In the Sela theme the custom header size is 1180 x 160 pixels.
