header image turns grey in Twenty Seventeen Theme

I tried to upload my own bright color image with 2000×1200 pixel to the header, but the image gets blur and grey. The middle part inside the frame was supposed to be white and the part outside the frame was bright blue. The result was the same no matter what image I uploaded. And the frame was cut, too. I wonder what went wrong.

    Hi lilysneverendingadventure,

I tried to upload my own bright color image with 2000×1200 pixel to the header, but the image gets blur and grey.

The grey gradient at the bottom of image is part of theme and is added to help ensure your site title and tagline remain legible on different coloured images. I can also see blurring on the frame edges but this is also visible on original image you uploaded (when viewed at full size):

You may want to try uploading a different version of the frame with crisper edges.

And the frame was cut, too.

The Twenty Seventeen theme automatically scales images to the size of your device which means a small amount of cropping can occur. It might be best to experiment with the cropping, perhaps including more of the blue to see if that helps.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
