Header image unavailable?

    My header image doesn’t display when I upload it, I have followed the instructions by adding and uploading an image but when I press save it doesn’t appear on the header even if I refresh it after pressing save?

    Hi,

    The Dyad theme, when applied to a new site, comes with two default featured images that display in the Featured Content Slider on the posts page. The Dyad theme guide says:

    Alternate Header Images
    If no posts have the Featured Content tag you set in the Customizer, Dyad displays your tagline over the Custom Header Image if one was uploaded. A Custom Header Image can be uploaded by going to Customize → Header Image.

    It’s not explicitly stated here, but the implication is that a custom header image added will not be displayed without removing the featured content tags from posts.

    From the paragraph which follows the one I quoted from above in the Dyad theme guide:

    If no posts have the Featured Content tag, the Custom Header Image will be displayed on the Front Page instead.

    Oddly, it appears that, despite the theme coming with seven default headers to choose from or to display randomly, the default featured content tags must be removed from the posts to which they are applied in order to either display one or all (randomly) of the default header images, to display a custom header image, or to display multiple custom header images randomly.

    I’m not sure my conclusion here is accurate, so I’ve added a “modlook” tag to the sidebar of this topic to call for staff attention.

    I was unable to successfully display a header on either the posts page or the default “About” and “Contact” pages in a test site with the Dyad theme applied. However, I’ve yet to try deleting the default featured content tags.

    I’m happy to help you with this. With the Dyad theme, your custom header image will display once you remove the ‘featured’ text from the ‘featured content’ tab in your customizer.
