HEADER IMAGE VANISHED

  PLEASE HELP – can’t believe this happened while the wordpress “happiness engineers” are unavailable til the end of the month!!!
  I just previewed a new theme – itheme2 – and it looked great. However when I SWITCHED to it, my header image – my ‘identity’ – vanished! It is not in my blog’s media files (unless somewhere other than all my blog pictures) and it is UNIQUE.

  I created this blog on a former computer… a PC … now I’m on a mac … anyway I do not have this image anywhere. Nor, it seems, does it exist online. I was HOPING wordpress could find my original blog on their server – the way it was an hour ago- and get me back to where I was when this all began. Reverting back to my former theme did not display my header art. This is a big deal to me… can anyone please give me any guidance/good news re: how I might get it back? Why would it work in the preview beautifully, and then bomb when I committed? What’s the POINT of a preview???

  A header image must be uploaded in Appearance>Header. It doesn’t transfer from theme to theme. Since you had uploaded it, you can go to Media>Library and find it.

  You can also find a previous state of your blog by entering this in the google search bar of your browser:
  cache:YOUR BLOG URL HERE
  That’s how I found yours. Is this the image you’re talking about?

  But the dimensions of the header image in iTheme are different, so for best results you’ll need to create a new version of the image anyway (in the exact dimensions the theme specifies).

  I’m perplexed bcz it wasn’t in the media file, and came up “not found” in appearance/header!? Moreover, I searched google (just using wingingwithwhitehawk; not the entire url) and … nada.

  You have made my day. (If it doesn’t work with the new theme, at least I can restore the old one. (But t looked GREAT in the preview… hm… )
