header Image won't publish

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m attempting to revise my blog theme in order to display my images more prominently. However, when I went back to the first theme I used, the header image reverted back too. Everytime I try to change it, it displays an error message when I click publish. I want a theme that displays my artwork and photos prominently, and with print I can see clearly. I’m also having trouble adding image widgets. Do you have any suggestions? I cannot afford to upgrade.
    Thanks

Yes. Go to your Media Library and delete the header image you do not want to lose. Then prepare a new one offline that’s the correct size and upload it. If you upload an image that’s smaller than what’s required for the header then the cropper will come into play and the image quality will be lost. For the Modularity Lite theme images of exactly 950 × 200 pixels will be used as-is. Also note that the only file types you can successfully upload must have these extensions > Images
    .jpg
    .jpeg
    .png
    .gif

Exactly what do you mean by “trouble”?

The first troubleshooting technique is clearing your browser cache and cookies.

Is your browser version up to date? You can upgrade any browser version here.

Do you have third party cookies enabled? Do you have another browser you can try?
How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers.

Are you using http:// or https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

You can use this link to see if your Flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not up to date then this is where to download and install the latest version of Flash. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

Thank you. I’ll try this. Actually, I have no trouble pasting the my URL from Flikr or Photobucket, it’s just that the image widgets didn’t show when I viewed the blog. As for the header image, I suspected that it might have been too big. I’ll try to resize some images offline. Thanks, again. I’m still learning this, it’s taking trial and error.

When we change themes all the widget we previously used automatically migrate into the Inactive Widgets box here > Appearance > Widgets. We go there after changing themes and place them in the sidebar and/or footer areas for widgets again.

Yes, I’ve done that, too. I guess I’m not making myself clear. It’s after I move the widgets from inactive to active. I make sure I have the correct URL and save them. But It still won’t show. And I’ve contacted WordPress, but have never received any answer.

Do you open each of the widgets by clicking the top right hand corner and then click “save” and “close” inside each one?

Yes, I did. But there were no URLs saved, so I’ll have to copy and paste again. That’s OK, though, as I may want to resize my photos before attaching them anyway. And I did resize my header image, too. Thanks for all your help. I just have to be more patient with myself. I’ve only been blogging for a few months

    Hi timethief,

I really need your advice here and real bad!!!

I have a blog at http://www.howtomakemoneywithacomputer.info and was using this Atapualha 3.6.7 Theme for almost a year by now, when SUDDENLY all my Graphics ( on Posts and Custom Header ) goes BLANK!

Tried to change theme but the Preview Window is BLANK too. However when I force change to another theme, I realized that the new Header image is not displaying too.

NOW, assuming have a bad theme on hand, I created a NEW BLOG using a new Domain and after installing WordPress and using their latest default TwentyEleven Theme, GUESS WHAT? The HEADER Image is BLANK too!

I am lost, confused, dis-oriented… can you please give me your most professional advice?

    Thanks,
    William

    @maixv
Compressing and presizing all images before uploading them is the way to go. Use this link to determine the maximum displayed image width in posts and pages on your theme. Use this link to determine sidebar width on your theme. You’re welcome and best wishes with your blog. Use this link for information on optimizing images.
