header images

I’m trying to set a different header image on the “About” page of my blog. I’ve followed the directions: On the About page I set the featured image, I can see its thumbnail under “Featured Image,” and I update. But the default image still appears. Am I forgetting something?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The Header Image is a site-wide setting and can be adjusted here:

Hi again,
Hmmmm, not sure if we are talking about the same thing. The header image was definitely not a site wide image for me. For a few years now I’ve had different header images on each page of my blog.
But when I deleted a header image on my About page this morning to put in a different photo, I couldn’t get the new image to appear.
There’s even a YouTube video on inserting different header images within the same blog: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xplkc-auxtY
I followed those directions (the same I used in the past):
– go to “Pages,”
– click on the page you want (in my case, “About Me”)
– go to the image shown at bottom right, click on it
– select a new image
– press “Set selected image”
– I see the new image’s thumbnail at the right
– I select “Update”But the new image just doesn’t appear. This has worked many times in the past. Just not sure why it’s not working now.
Any help would be appreciated.

You’re referring to the Featured Image:
For this image to appear for your theme, it needs to adhere to certain specifications:
To have a big featured image you need to use an image that is at least as big as the header image (1000px x 288px). Also, make sure you have a set size for Large image under Settings → Media that allows for such sizes.

It seems like your image is too small.
Try using a larger image, and you should be good to go.
