header images have expanded – how do I fix it?

I have been redirected from the spanish forum, where they could not help me with my problem.
As english is always a bit tricky for me, I hope I can explain accurately what is malfunctioning and apologise for errors.
I have a header image for every entry in my blog. I keep them actualized and edit them until they are complete with eleven photographs each. Now I have noticed that the header images have sort of expanded and as they normally contain text and firm they have turned illegible. The width I have used from beginning – after some trials – was 1200, which would fit the space fully, and now I’ve found I must change them all and resize them to 1050 if I want them to be legible. As I have some 120 entries, that would be a real fiasko.
    What can I do?
    Why does this happen?

    Thank you in advance.

Could you provide a link to an example of where your header is “illegible” and is being resized to 1050px?

I took a look at the changelog for Twenty Fourteen and there haven’t been any recent changes that I can see which would have affected the header size.

The header on your homepage is currently displayed at 1260px wide, which matches the theme’s specs listed on its showcase page:

The header image size is 1260 wide and 240 high.

I don’t know when exactly it happened, but some two weeks ago (?) I noticed it when editing an old entry. All my top photographs are sized 1200, if I go bigger, the edges are cut, so I found out when beginning the blog. Now, these 1200 wide top images of older entries are cut at both sides as well; this does mutilate the copyright (mostly right side, down) and many times the title (included in the photograph).
If you stroll a bit through the blog, you’ll see that the newer entries are reduced to 1050, which seems to fit; I have edited also those anterior entries which were actualized with new photographs in the main body.
I have had a quick look into older entries and all of them seem mutilated now. Don’t now why this occurred and would be very grateful for any helping advice.
I work with aspire lap top and haven’t changed since beginning with the blog.

Sorry, didn’t want to make two posts out of it: a second example:

    ThanK You!

  • Thanks for the links. The display on both posts looks normal on my screen, and on both the header image is still displaying at 1260, as you can see in the browser inspector:

Could you upload a screenshot of what you’re seeing to help in troubleshooting?

Here’s a guide on how to make a screenshot:

You can upload the screenshot – in a graphic format like JPG, PNG, or PDF – in your Media Library so I can see it. Thanks.

  • By the way, I am referring to the custom header image with the yellow flowers at the top of the page. Is that the image you’re having issues with?
