Header images not showing in media library and uploaded images

  I’m using the Quintus theme, and for a couple of months now I’ve noticed that when I upload a new header image via “appearance – header” some of the images don’t show up under “uploaded images”. I used to be able to see all previously uploaded header images in that section.
  Also, in the media library these pictures don’t show up but are represented by an empty white square.
  I don’t have this problem in my other blogs so I can’t figure out why that is.
  Cache and cookies are always emptied so I don’t think it’s that.
  Does anyone have the same problem or a solution?
