Header images spontaneously reverting to default

The header images on my blogs have reverted back to default settings. Every attempt I’ve made so far to change them back to my uploaded images have not stuck. They look ok after I save the changes in theme customization, but checking the blogs afterwards show the default setting again. This is happening on both my blogs:
