Header in Writr theme
-
I’m using Writr theme…the “Preview” and “Randomize” option for the pic in the header show the picture to be in a circular shape…whenever I upload the pic I want, it’s in a rectangular shape. How can I keep the circle without having to use photoshop/powerpoint. It’s hard to match the background color exactly in the above mentioned programs, so I’m really hoping this theme allows for the circle just like it shows! Thanks for your help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Judah,
It shows your Gravatar by default, so the easiest thing might be to remove that header and upload the same image as your Gravatar here:
https://streetoftrees.wordpress.com/wp-admin/users.php?page=grofiles-editorI think in that case, it will just display it round. If it doesn’t the other option would be to crop your image into a circle using your image editing software and upload that. Or if you need to match the color, the actual color code is #61ADA0

Hello, thank you so much for the response. That worked, however…the image quality is TERRIBLE. I’ve tried all sizes of pictures to see if that’s the issue, and it doesn’t seem to matter. The picture looks fine once it’s uploaded on the Gravatar page, it’s just in the header space on the blog where the quality is pixelated and problematic. Any help is appreciated! Is a certain size recommended for the quality to be clear?

Ok, I think it’s working now…I just had to go into customize and hide the header, then show it again. Just for WordPress’s info…this was a little frustrating and not clear AT ALL! If I don’t want to use my Gravatar pic, then I won’t be able to keep the circle shape. Plus, it wasn’t clear that the header pic would be associated with my Gravatar. Thanks for your help, and thanks for reading!

I’m not able to delete the above comment…the image is still pixelated. It looks fine when I’m editing and saving, and then when I go to look at the site, it’s much larger and the image looks terrible. I’m finding this theme and set-up process to be very frustrating.

Hi Judah,
On my end, it looks the same as the image itself. Is this what it looks like for you:
https://cloudup.com/cuiemjWIihlIf so, and that’s the problem, can you please upload the image you’re using for your Gravatar to your blog’s Media Library, so I can take a look?
If the image does not look for you like it does in my screenshot, can you please load your site in an alternate browser, such as Chrome or Firefox, to see if it looks the same there? And can you also make a screenshot of what it looks like on your end?
Here are instructions for how to make a screenshot: http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/
You can upload the screenshot to your blog’s Media Library and I can look at it there.

Hello,
So, the pic seems to be ok now…not sure what the issue was. However, the published site looks slightly different than when the one I saved while on the “Customize” page. I’ve taken a screen shot of both and put them in my library. The second one is the one I’m wanting to use and the one that I keep saving. Thanks for your help!

The difference I see in those screenshots is that in one, the hover on the menu items is black rather than a darker green. If that’s what you’d like to change, you can paste the following CSS into your CSS editor (Appearance->Customize->CSS):
.main-navigation a:hover { background-color: #000; }Is there another difference I’m not spotting?
