Header Is Blank/Black

  Hi there,

  I have recently installed the Benevolence theme to my blog and as far as I can tell, I cannot see my new custom header image. I restored the original header but still, all I’m getting is a black header. I ask some of my bloggers and readers who check on my blog regularly if they can see the header on their computers but they confirm that they are getting the same thing; a blank black header. I searched through the forums for people who had the same problem in the past and I tried almost every recommendations posted such as clearing the cache, force refresh, switching browsers, optimizing the image, etc. But nothing helped at all.

  The size of my image is 96KB.

  I looked at your blog, and when I try to view the masthead image I get a 404 not found page.

  Why don’t you try reloading an image for the masthead? Make sure it’s the right length and width.

  OK, I’ve done what you said but it’s still not showing up. Right now, I have restored the original header (which is still a black header, not the grassy green image) and when I tried to view it, it gave me the 404 error as well.

  Any other recommendations?

  I think you need an absolute url to the header image. The relative one will not work with custom css.

  Thanks Mark and Pipsqueak. It worked. I simply used a direct url just as Mark suggested. Sorry for the late replay…I was away from the computer. Again, thank you so much :D
