Header media resizing issues

Hoping you can help! My org’s website currently does not have any header media (photo or video) – only a logo with a single-color background. However, when I try to remove the logo and instead upload header media, the media I upload gets cut off/resized/cropped! I’ve tried this with a custom-sized video to the theme’s recommended dimensions, a custom photo of the same dimensions, and even linking a YouTube video. I’ve looked through dozens of old forums for help and can’t figure out what settings or custom CSS needs to be added to keep the header media size from cutting off the uploaded media. The website is childrenscampaignfund [dot] org. Thank you!

  • Hi there!

I’m afraid that your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so we can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:
    https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

You can look for help at the community forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

http://wordpress.org/support/ is also a great resource for sites using the open-source WordPress.org software.
