Header photo

Is there a way to change the header photo to a photo in my media library? It seems that the only option is to upload a new header photo from the computer each time even though the photo I want to use is already in my WP media library. thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No, you will have to change the image by going through appearance > custom header in the dashboard and then upload it and crop it there.

thanks. I like to change my header photo frequently, so thought there was a way to just use already cropped photos in my media library.

hi my blog is ashleybeeluv and im having some difficulties uploading a new header phto can you fix it? please

The blog, ashleybeeluv.wordpress.com does not exist here. Is this the link to your blog http://ashleybeeluv130.wordpress.com/ ? If so, always provide the URL when asking questions. The title of the blog does us no good.
This support document explains custom headers and how to upload them: http://support.wordpress.com/themes/custom-header-image/ .
My suggestion is to crop and size the image to the exact dimensions prior to uploading it. The exact size can be found on the appearance > custom header page.

@ashleybeeluv, My suggestion is to upload a header that is sized to the exact dimensions required for your theme and not use the crop feature at wordpress.COM. It has been a problem for the last few months for some.
The exact header size for your theme is 740 x 192 pixels.

Once you start editing the CSS, the custom header upload function ceases to work, the link to your custom header is broken and you have to enter it into the appropriate spot in the CSS. I wish they would make this more clear somewhere either on the CSS editing page, or on the custom header page.
Under #mainpic in the background declaration, replace images/mainpic01.jpg with the URL of your custom header image so that it look like this:
background:transparent url(http://umalongahistoria.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/mapadovale3.gif) no-repeat scroll 0 0; -
i spent time designing an awesome header on photoshop. and then i couldnt even use it in its entirety bc wordpress makes me crop whatever picture i upload as a header. is there a way to go around this?
