Header Picture Issues
-
I am having difficulty getting the program to activate a crop and publish. It keeps telling me to try again and I don’t know what I am doing wrong. Every once in awhile it does go through.
I’ll save my other question for another post.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It’s just a photograph–I’m uploading a photo to go on the header. When it is uploaded, then I am told to “crop it” -and I am only allowed to select a rectangular sliver of the photo–when I set up–and the press “crop and publish.” I do this a zillion time and it keeps telling me to go back and try again. Once in a blue moon it works and all the other times it doesn’t.

“Photograph” isn’t a type of file. JPG BMP PNG these are file types.
And you are ALWAYS only allowed to select the rectangle that will fit in the header.

bonjour,
je ne peux plus insérer un cliché dans mon article. Cliché venbant habituellement de ma bibliothéque d’image. -
It’s a JPG file, but it won’t (even a rectangle) “crop and publish”
What is this French above–some kind of put down>
Je ne I think it says something like I don’t know how to put a cliche into my article?

Mellissa, what they said was, “I can not insert a picture in my article. Photo Venba usually my picture library.”

Prepare your image in an image editing program before uploading it and size and crop it to the exact dimensions require for your theme. You can find those dimensions at appearance > header.

I went in to edit the photo and made it 940 by 98 pixels–and it stretched the photo out and made it look very funny (I tried it with two photos)–the photo I currently have is one that I had somehow cropped-on a different day–so that photo work.
However, I can’t crop and publish –It happens in a blue moon. . .Why was I able to get it to do this and now I can’t.
The pixel change completely distorts the picture–and so ugly I’m not leavind it up as a sample. . .

Staff made a big change to the way the headers are now. Yes, if you put both aspects in, it will distort photos that aren’t that aspect ratio to begin with. You’re better off just putting in the width and allowing wp.com to put in the height.
