  Hi Andreas,

  I’m sorry for the trouble! Our team launched a change earlier today that caused problems for customizations you made to your site’s appearance (like your custom header image). We fixed that problem, and most sites are now back to normal.

  If your header image or any other customizations are still missing, you can open your site’s Customizer and re-save them now.

  If you have any more trouble with that, please let me know!

  Thanks for explanation Rachel as I too was concerned on returning to my blog after a long weekend. It was running through all my themes basic header images (2011)!

  Not having time to query I dipped into Appearance to remind myself what’s there and noticed ‘randomization’ under my usual header image and clicked on it. This seemed to do the trick, don’t think I hit save. Everything’s been fine since then.
