Header problems
-
I’ve finally got my custom header up on my new blog, but ive noticed a huge white gap on the right side of the screen. Is it possible to centralise the header so its not so pronounced or looks out of place. Or extend the header the res of the way. The header size is the maximum allowed, so ifigured it would fit perfectly, but it just looks odd with that huge gap.
I reset it to the original to see how that looked, but that fits perfectly with no gap, its only my custom header that seems to be off.

okay i fixed the huge gap, but now the image has been cropped, even though its the right size. what am i doing wrong?

Want to post some tips, so the next noobs will be able to fake non-noobdom easier? They will thank you.

*sighs* okay im back at square one again. The image im trying to upload is 513×140 which is less than the maximum of 750×140
However it still tries to crop it, it wont allow me to upload the image without gutting half of the image. here’s the image: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v378/theoldhermit/Hermit-dragonBanner.jpg
I’ve even reduced it down to 366×100 and it still wont allow it to be uploaded.
I’ve cleared my cache restarted the comp, deleted all temp files, everything else i can think of aswell. Really frustrating :(

Image wise dont use windows Paint to resize the images, since it resizes them by adding white space. Hence the white block i was getting. Use either Photoshop or one of its free counterparts that actualy change the image.

Just a thought: why don’t you max it out to exactly the right dimensions? The maximization facility on your graphics program is bound to be better than that at WordPress. Try using that and let us know how it goes.

it works for some odd reason >.< though it looks a bit squashed.
So other noobs in future make your header the exact maximum dimensions to save a lot of hair pulling, cussing and turning the air blue :)
