You can upload an animated gif as a header to make a sort of slideshow, but you must be aware that it will take much longer to load that a static jpeg.
Animated gifs (headers or in posts or pages) must be uploaded at the exact size they are made: you can’t make size changes after uploading them or they will not “animate.”
There is no upgrade for animated slideshows on headers, though some of the most recent themes available have sliders so that pictures up top change from one featured image to another.

Thank you so much! I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything! I really appreciate you taking the time to respond!

You are welcome.
If it’s any alternative, you can have a Flickr slideshow in your sidebar. Not quite the same, but quick to load.

Hi
If you are trying to put a slideshow into a post or page, then you don’t necessarily need the gigya code:If you have enabled auto-embedding in Settings>Media, then you should be able to insert a Flickr slideshow simply by pasting its URL (http…etc.etc…/show/ ) in the HTML post or page editor (thanks to Jennifer for pointing out). If this won’t work, you can use the workaround described here.
