Header Spacing is Different on Homepage vs Other Pages

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there,

    I can’t figure out why my homepage has more spacing between the header and the banner image vs every other page on my site. How do I fix this?

    Ideally, I would like all pages to match what the homepage is.

    Thank you in advance.

  • Hi there,

    Are you aware that you can get help with this privately and in real time via live chat support? Your Business Plan gives you 24/7 access to live chat support via the form at https://wordpress.com/help/contact, and also priority email support if live chat is unavailable. While we’re happy to help you here, you don’t need to post in a public forum where there’s no guarantee that someone from our support staff will see your question :)

    With that out of the way, this should remove that extra spacing on your front page:

    @media only screen and (min-width: 782px) {
      .home main#main.site-main {
        padding-top: 0;
      }
    }

    It looks like the theme adds that extra padding on both desktop and tablet screen sizes, and this code should take care of both of those without affecting the mobile view.

    Thanks for letting me know. I didn’t know where to find the live chat. I’ll use that.

    That worked… Thank you!
