Header text on Intergalactic not centered
-
My blog title when using Intergalactic displays itself not in the center of the page, but to the right. The theme works with a certain title length, but not with the length I want.
I haven’t done anything besides put the theme into use, so I don’t know why it’s not working.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there,
I can see your blog title perfectly centered on my laptop, so probably it’s not quite centred when displayed in bigger screens (13″ and more). Guess it’s something related to the viewport maybe, so I’ve typed the CSS tags for you on this thread so some CSS hero of the forum can help you out with that.
Good luck and happy holidays!

Hi @hoarfrostinfernal, I used my measurit add-on and measured the space on the left and right of your site title on a variety of browser window widths and it is centered. With long titles with no spaces, such as what you have now, there isn’t a way for the software to break the long, title, which can cause some alignment issues.
The size of the title could be adjusted using CSS Media Queries so that it doesn’t bump into the sides of the screen/window, but this would require the Custom Design upgrade, which would be available at Store > Store in your dashboard.

Thank you for looking into it!
So basically I would have to put in money to fix it? That’s frankly disappointing, but of course not your fault. :(
I guess I will have to content myself with using spaces between the words, because I am not going to pay for that.

Yes.

That’s rubbish in my opinion, I won’t be paying money to fix something that should not even be an issue in the first place. And if the header itself was too long, the theme should be able to make the text smaller to fit it, in my opinion.
Ah well.
Thanks for the reply, anyhow!
I’ll stop tracking the topic for now, I don’t think I’ll be getting anymore help.

@hoarfrostinfernal, our developers do their best to make sure that things work well with long titles, but they simply can’t cover all the possibilities. Not long ago I saw a site with a title that was over 30 characters with no spaces or breaks. On my phone, the title was totally unreadable because it was so tiny so that it would fix on the screen.
I will chat with our developers on this and see if there is something they can do, but I can’t make any promises.

I see that you have added spaces between the works now. Give the word spacing in the title font on Intergalactic is not too wide, I think it looks pretty good the way you have it.
