WTF literally 20 min ago I was able to use a video (Uber 8mb) as my header for theme “TWENTY SEVENTEEN” but now when I try and customize .. I get the error : “This theme doesn’t support video headers on this page…” Not sure what I did wrong in the last 5 min but am prettt frustrated, PLEASE HELP :)
Mind you, the description of the theme still says “Twenty Seventeen brings your site to life with header video and immersive featured images … “
so really, no clue what’s going on
    Thank you

    Hi,

What’s the address (URL) of the site that you’re referring to above?

Might you have previewed the Twenty Seventeen theme without activating it?

So here’s some images to better illustrate what’s going on. Thank you for your help :) url is at the top.

Thanks for the additional information. Looks like you’re in the wrong forum. The site skatediaries.com is using the self-hosted version of WordPress and you need to seek help at the WordPress.org forums:

    https://wordpress.org/support/

WordPress.com and WordPress.org are different versions of WordPress, with different support forums. See the WordPress.com and WordPress.org support page.

You may be using a different version of the Twenty Seventeen theme that isn’t available to WordPress.com users. On my test site with Twenty Seventeen theme activated, I was unable to duplicate the error message that you’ve described and demonstrated in the screenshot, the error message that says:

This theme doesn’t support video headers on this page. Navigate to the front page or another page that supports video headers.

However, even though such an error message doesn’t appear when I’m previewing any other page than the front page at Customize, I do find that when previewing anything other than the front page, the Video Header option disappears from the admin section at the left and a previously added video header doesn’t display there. At Customize, the video header displays only when previewing the front page, and also on the publicly visible site it displays only on the front page.

Though I didn’t find anything in the WordPress.com Twenty Seventeen theme guide regarding where the video header can be displayed, my tests revealed that it displays only on the front page. It cannot be displayed instead of the site header on other static pages, the blog page, archives pages, the portfolio, portfolio projects, etc.

If the same is true for the version of Twenty Seventeen that you’re using, then it’s not surprising that you would obtain that error message when you preview any page other than the front or home page at Customize.
