Header/Site Title & Description Issue
-
I am using the Blogum theme and I purchased the CSS option for the $30. I uploaded my own header, but the header is pushed down by the site title and description. I want to make the header start at the very top and hide the site title and description. What I don’t want to do is hide the title and description from the search engines. How do I do this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Kyle,
You can go ahead and hide them using CSS:
.wf-active #header h1 { display: none; } #header h2 { display: none; }This just hides them from appearing; they’re still in the sitemap for search engines.
Let me know if you have further questions!

Hello and thank you for the follow up. I added the code in a Text Widget and it still didn’t work. See http://www.thesimplechild.com. Any ideas?

Hi Kyle,
I’m sorry, I wasn’t very clear. :)
You’ll want to paste that in your CSS editor, which is in Appearance->Customize->CSS here:

I just added the code and the header is moved up, but the navigation bar (Home/About) is now cut off right underneath. Any way to make this not be cut off? Or to move it down a line? Thank you! http://www.thesimplechild.com if you need to look!
Thank you :)

Hi Kyle,
That’s due to the padding and positioning you added to move up the header. If you remove that bit, the menu will be clear at the top.
If you need additional help with switching the positioning of the menu and the header, you should ask the experts in the CSS forum here:

Thank you for your help! I am still having two issues which I think are fairly easy to adjust.
1) I want my site navigation to be moved over to start where my header starts to the left.
2)My Blog Roll is on the right rail and I would like to move that up to the top left. Is that possible?

Hi Kyle,
You could do the first with CSS, and you can ask for assistance with that in the CSS forum here:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customizationFor the right sidebar, you’d be better off to just find a theme with a left sidebar:
http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/left-sidebar/That’d be easier than trying to float the sidebar over there. And you might also find a theme with the menu under the header image where you want it to begin with. :)

Thank you for the heads up. I know you can move something to the left sidebar. My friend does it in his blog with the blogum theme. It is simple moving the blogroll under where you would leave a comment, etc.
I will reach out to the CSS forum on the site nav issue.
Thank you-
