headings are hidden

Headings are hidden on the menu bar, but appear when the cursor is hovered over the menu bar. How do I make it so that they are not hidden ?

In customizing the theme’s colors, it appears that you have set the navigation bar’s background to almost the same color as the links.
Besides changing that bar background back to black, the only way to make the navigation links a different color is via CSS: https://wordpress.com/support/custom-design/custom-css/

I haven’t edited this site since April ’20, when I added a page. I didn’t notice anything untoward on that day, and only spotted this about a week ago when I was checking to see if the link from another site was still working okay.
I had a look at the link you sent me, and I’m afraid I was totally lost with it. -
Further to sending the previous message, I went into “customizing colours and backgrounds”, identified the shade of border (blue) I have been using, changed the background to “default” and then picked my shade again – however it did take me five attempts before I was finally back to my original colour themes, but can now view the headings.
