Heave flickering between styles in chrome and edge

    Hi,

    I am building carbonthebook.com
    I am using edda thema
I changed the fonts to minion.
And I changed also the size using the CSS editor.
In chrome when the site loads there is heavy flickering, the original css loads first and then the changes apply but it is visible and the site seems flickering. It happens every time a page loads, it happens in chrome (using Version 49.0.2623.112 m) and Edge. Did not see that in mozilla. Can you please advise how can I solve that?

    Thanks

Hi there, with custom web fonts, when someone, goes to a website, the browser has to download the custom fonts from the font servers. If the font servers happen to be busy, or perhaps they are on a slower internet connection, or the internet between them and the web font servers happens to be busy, there can be a long delay before the site starts loading.

There are two ways to hand web fonts. The first is to wait until the web fonts are downloaded by the visitor’s browser before the page loading begins, no matter how long that takes, or the second way which is to go ahead and let the page start loading and then substitute the fonts when they are downloaded from the server.

Given that web users patience for slow loading sites keeps getting shorter, the decision was to go ahead and start the display of the pages and then put the fonts in when they were loaded. It’s not the perfect solution, and for some it is annoying, but it is better than a visitor getting impatient and clicking away from your site thinking there is something wrong.

This is something we are well aware of, and something that we are still very mindful of and are working on, but given that we don’t have any control over the internet, or the font servers/providers, we are a bit limited on what we can do.

When I visit your site in Safari, Chrome and Firefox, I see the slight delay in font loading.
