Heavy flow of page views….from Facebook
-
I am just wondering about a sudden spike on page views, according to the stats mostly coming from Facebook
I publicize the post as I normally do, the new post has been up for 2 days, I don’t understand where all these views are coming from –
has this happen to anyone? Is there a way to know why so many hits coming from Facebook when there’s nothing obviously pointing to my blog over there????
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Facebook does not provide info on the referrals and the Facebook account they come from – somebody probably put your post on their page and it went to all their friends
I had something like 65 visits from Facebook with people living in Finland to a two ++ year old Post – it happens – – how did I know what was happening? I happened to look at my stats in the middle of the night when traffic low and saw the bump to one Post, with Facebook as a referrer and almost all the traffic from Finland
Probably OK – and yes it happens from time to time

Thanks! it was the first time for me, I’ve got some influx from Pinterest sometimes, but then I can track it to the source. Facebook is a big black box.. :-)
oh, well – I will enjoy my five minutes of super fame! ;-)

It happens – I have had several of my Posts posted on different sites – first time was a bit of a shock – all from Sweden – about an article I wrote about about my adventures on one of their former Coast Guard Auxiliary vessels – another early link was to an article I wrote about the Marine Rules of the Road –
For your next shock – when you see your name or user name in the search terms
You be welcome & good luck with your blog – sometimes people even subscribe when they visit

Indeed, I got a few subscribers today, and they are all coming from my post on “The Ultimate Apple Cake”, which is indeed about 2 and a half years old!
