Height of Footer, Carousel Images

    Hello im new to wordpress please forgive me i know this sounds easy but I’m having a hard time on it. I’ve read the set-up but its not working.

    1. How to change the height of the footer?
    2. How to add images in the carousel just like in the demo of “Ippo Premium Theme”?

    I’m using this theme https://wordpress.com/theme/ippo/

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    Same here, I found it is a bit technical and not easy though, but I hope this will do the tricks :)

    1. How to change the height of the footer?

    You can change the height of the footer using this CSS:

    .site-footer {
    padding-top: 0;
    padding-bottom: 0;
    }

    .site-footer .widget-area {
    margin-top: 3.25rem;
    margin-bottom: 3.25rem;
    }

    2. How to add images in the carousel just like in the demo of “Ippo Premium Theme”?

    I think you can set-up it from here:
    My Site > Customize > Theme Options > Featured Slider > Choose Carousel

    #1 works like a charm! Thank you very much. I’m not really that good nor expert at CSS and the classes. Where can i find those classes so it would be easier for me to study and configure them.

    #2 I already enabled the Carousel but I want to know how to add different images in the carousel.

    I was able to see this one in the setup page.

    Setting up the Featured Content Slider
    To set up the Featured Content slider:

    Create some posts with optional Featured Images and give them all the same Tag (hint: try “featured” or “slider” so it’s memorable).
    Go to Customize Featured Content, and enter the tag you selected in step 1.
    Press Save & Publish, and your slider will appear on the blog!

    Does this mean I still have to post something? What if my website is not a blog page. I just want to feature some images that I can offer for my website?

    Hi,

    I’ve mistaken for the Carousel.
    You will need to choose “Full-width” for the Slider Layout on Featured Slider.

    You will also need to put “featured” tag or any tag that you wish and put that tag on Customize > Featured Content.

    Does this mean I still have to post something? What if my website is not a blog page. I just want to feature some images that I can offer for my website?

    Unfortunately, you will need to create a blog to be able to put a tag and be Featured Image on the slider. You could create an offer in a Post though :)

    I’m using Google Chrome and it has a developer tool, you can right-click, choose Inspect on the section that you need to edit.
    If you want to learn HTML CSS, you can find the tutorial on Youtube.com or Udemy.com and get self-taught.

    Thank you very much! I set the Featured Slider (slider layout) to Full-Width
    I tried creating a Blog post then have it tagged as “featured” then added an Featured Image. Then went back to Customize->Featured Content -> then added a tag name “featured” but when i published it, it didnt work or do anything at all. Did I miss a step?

    If I’m not mistaken, the Featured Images are only shown when the homepage is a Page with Blog Post.

    As we see the demo here: https://ippodemo.wordpress.com/
    is a Page contain Blog Post.

    Question 1: Is it possible to have a carousel slider BUT I make my blog posts private? I just want to have carousel slider for the front page. But I don’t make blog posts/articles.

    Unfortunately, If the Post is private, then all the content, including images are private, that means, nobody can see it.

    Is it possible to mess around with the php file to change it? Allowing me to have the header image for the front page without posting any blog posts?

    I’m afraid you can’t edit PHP because we are all on the same multi-user blogging platform and if we could edit the edits would be universally applied to all who have the same theme.

    If you require that functionality, you must hire a web host and self-host free WordPress software available from https://wordpress.org

    Or you can upgrade to Business Plan so that you can upload Plugins for Slider. You can read the article here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/
