  I’ve hired a third-party to build a website for my client, however, I am not certain how much or what access the web builder should have for our site to ‘go live’. Please advise?

  Hi @turbothegreat, just noting these forums are for the free sites using our managed hosting service, which can be quite different from running your own WordPress installation at another host.
