Hello!

I am having troubles with connecting to my accounts. I have this account which im using for the site that I am a contributor for and I have my own blog hosted by another server but still sing wordpress. For my own site, I can connect to my wp-admin using the username Cristina Ralu and the password, but if I want to connect to WordPress.org where the Jetpack transffers me, using these credentials I cannot log in.

  • Hi there,

Can you please tell us the URL of the site in question?

A WordPress.com username account, a WordPress.org account, and your admin account on a self-hosted WordPress site are three completely separate and different accounts, and you won’t be able to log into any of them using the credentials you use for one of the other two.

The admin username for your site is completely unique to that site, and the login credentials are stored in that site’s database.

A WordPress.com username account is what you’re using to post in this forum. It can only be used to access a self-hosted site’s WP-Admin area if that site is connected to WordPress.com via Jetpack, and Jetpack’s SSO feature is enabled.

A WordPress.org account can only be used to post in the WordPress.org forums and contribute to the WordPress software there. It has no connection to your site’s admin account at all, and can never be used to log into your site.

If you want to post in the WordPress.org forums for help with something, you’d need to create a WordPress.org account before you can do that.

Let me know if you have any other questions about this.
