Hello from Dubai

Hello! I own a domain: boulderzone.ae from a local domain provider called Tasjeel.ae
I am a little confused over what connection would mean in my case as the .ae is not recognised in WordPress.
Does it mean that I keep my domain as boulderzone.ae and when visitors type that link, it will redirect them to boulderzone.wordpress.com or boulderzone.com? Please do help me understand so I make the right decision as Tasjeel is also selling WordPress packages which I think are not as good as getting it directly from WordPress (I am contemplating the creator version)
WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: No
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To add on, when it goes to a WordPress.com site e.g. boulderzone.com do I need to pay additional fees for that domain? Thanks in advance.

Hi there! You can certainly connect a domain that is not registered on WordPress.com to your site. This is called domain connection, but has also been called domain mapping. Here is our guide about connecting a domain to a WordPress.com hosted site. https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/
On WordPress.com we do not have the option to register new domains with the .ae TLD. However, you can use domain connection. In this case the domain will stay registered where it is now while it directs traffic to WordPress.com hosting.WordPress.com sites have a free default site address, such as boulderzone.wordpress.com. If you would like to use a custom domain, such as boulderzone.ae, instead you can. The key is to make the custom domain the Primary Domain for the site. To be able to make a domain Primary you need to have a paid hosting plan.
If you make boulderzone.ae the Primary domain, this means that site visitors will see that address instead of boulderzone.wordpress.com in the web browser address bar.
I hope this helps point you in the right direction. Let us know if you have other questions about getting started.
