hello, i had a wordpress website in 2016. my email at that time was (email visible only to moderators and staff). i closed that email and wordpress account. i’d like to recover its content. please contact me at (email visible only to moderators and staff) to let me know how i can do that. thank you.

    I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  • Hi @leadfoot528, could you send a link to the site you’re trying to recover? I’m not seeing content on the other account.

hi, thanks for your prompt response. i don’t have the link. my blog page was running between late 2015 to late 2016. the email from that blog page was (email visible only to moderators and staff). that email stayed open until late 2018. my wordpress account might have been under the person who set up the page for me – breiter creative. my personal email at that time was (email visible only to moderators and staff), but i changed that to my current email, which is (email visible only to moderators and staff). i’d be happy to provide you with my name and phone number if that will help. thank you.

  • If you don’t have the URL of the site, can you at least recall the title of the site?

I think it was called CO-ach

  • Ah, would that be co-ach.net?

It was linked to the account here under the second email address you listed by way of the Jetpack plugin.

Unfortunately, it was not hosted with WordPress.com. It was a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

It also was not using our backup product: https://jetpack.com/upgrade/backup/

Your only option would be to ask your former hosting provider if they still have a backup of your hosting account with them.

If that doesn’t work out, you can at least copy/paste content into a new site from an archived copy like https://web.archive.org/web/20161004062611/http://co-ach.net/
