Hello Im Brand New Please Help

I want to use word press to create my website but host it somewhere else. can I a. upload the website to me uber host or b. point my uber host to the wordpress site, and c. which paid subscription will allow connectivity to my filemaker database.

Hi,
In order to be able to host your WordPress site somewhere else, you will need to visit WordPress.org and download the standalone package which will allow you to host your custom website yourself elsewhere.
You will need to obtain a domain name and find a website host in order to upload both your website files and database.
However, you will either need to get a web developer involved in order to keep things up to date and secure or take care of it yourself. As a web developer myself, I can say that this can be both time consuming and difficult at times.
Afterwards, you can also connect it to a Filemaker database if you would like to do so as you will normally have full access to the back end of your website.

Thank you very much Ogurel, I’m really happy to learn over time, I did this with Filemaker and Lynda.com and have a fantastic database now. I have uploaded the WordPress files to my Website Host. Where do I start creating the website?

As this forum is for WordPress.com hosted websites only, please visit https://wordpress.org/support/ where they should be able to help you.
However, if you have configured your domain name to point to your website host (you can get the hosting and domain name from the same place as well) you can create the database and then navigate to your website’s address and start the installation procedure.
