Please slo answer my questions:
Did you check your email spam filter?
Did you whitelist email from .wordpress.com in your email client. -
Mine is still the free hosted blog, as far as I know, because that’s the instructions I followed.
“What is the URL starting with http:// of the blog you are referring to”
andacupofcoffee is all I know“Did you check your email spam filter?”
yes“Did you whitelist email from .wordpress.com in your email client.”
I have NO idea what ANY of that means -
auxclass,
That’s Greek to me.
Sorry folks, I’m a “writer” and NOT a computer geek. I don’t know even a fraction of what most of you have forgotten years ago, and I really don’t want to know a lot of that “stuff”.
I want a free and S I M P L E forum for sharing ideas.
I don’t want to take a course, learn an entirely new career or lifestyle, I just want a place to open, write, share and close a blog – because that’s what nearly a hundred people have encouraged me to do over the past 4 or 5 years.
What’s more, they have ALL told how it’s something so simple that a blind dog could do it, which of course is a load of crap. It’s only that simple for someone who lives inside their little computer world for everything they do. (which will be the next blog topic if I ever get this thing off the ground)

timethief,
Yes, I did check my email spam filter.
I don’t even know what “whitelist email from .wordpress.com in your email client.”
means. -
Google is your friend > type
how do I whitelist an email address in my email [inset the name of the mail client you use]”
click “search”
follow the instructions provided in search results to whitelist email from .wordpress.com -
-
I’m sorry but I don’t have time to assist you to learn how to use your email client ie, email program or your computer as I’m multi-tasking from work.
-
Well, this is where the system all falls apart, I guess. If the volunteers know when to contact staff, and when those volunteers have stopped answering my questions, do I get to know when the “staff” is going to become involved?
-
@coffeedad, your mail client is the email program you use. Outlook, for example, is a mail client. What you’re being recommended to do is make sure wordpress.com emails are not being sent directly to your spam filter. Some mail clients allow you to “whitelist” (think in terms of a white hat signifying a good guy) certain domains like wordpress.com so email from anything @wordpress.com will be considered safe and not sent to spam.
Have you gone to http://andacupofcoffee.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ and tried to log in?
“Theme Wu Wei with 6 Widgets” means you are currently running the Wu Wei theme (which you should have chosen, as it is not the default theme) and you have six widgets in your widgeted area.
This page (and the links within it) may help you out.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-started/And when you get stuck, don’t be afraid to post your own thread here. We’ll help you as much as we can!

I’ll flag this for Staff attention and then you can explain to them that what you need is leassons in how to use your email program and your computer.

@coffeedad, the system actually works pretty well. Nearly every question in this forum gets answered within a few hours either by a volunteer or a staff member, sometimes both. And there are some very knowledgeable volunteers here, so it’s not like you’re getting second-class treatment! :)
Why don’t you see if you can log into your site with the information you’ve received, and play around with it for a bit. I’ve found WordPress to be very intuitive, so you might be able to figure a lot out on your own. Like I said before, when you do get stuck, feel free to post a new thread with your question/issue and someone should be able to tackle it pretty quickly.
