  how do you make a background that changes automatically?

  You cannot at wordpress.com.

  And please in the future, use a descriptive title for your topic instead of just “help.” Thanks in advance.

  Everyone who posts here posts for “help”. As we Volunteers rarely answer questions that have not been previously asked of answered, all WordPress.com bloggers are expected to use the searchbox and locate answers to their questions (if possible), prior to posting to the forums. When the threads go into the searchbox they are useful to other members who are searching in the future only if the have descriptive titles and if they are properly tagged. That’s why thesacredpath said what he did and I want thank you for accepting his advice with grace, as you will be helping others now. :)
