Thank you so much for your help Happiness Engineer. i have tried repeatedly to put the follow button using the info from that site but i dont seem to understand. could you kindly help with that too?

Have you been able to find the subscriptions module that allows followers to follow you?

Hey there,

That’s a feature of being hosted on WordPress.com.With the Jetpack plugin you can get a widget in your sidebar that visitors can use to follow your site as well as add a “Follow this blog” checkbox that commenters can check when the leave a comment.

There are some other plugins that, in addition to that, add on a “Follow” button in the lower-right of your site while using Jetpack (akin to WordPress.com sites display when logged out). An example of a plugin that does this: http://wordpress.org/plugins/follow-button-for-jetpack/
