Help

I have a bazillion questions. I am having a blast setting up my new blog but am feeling my age as I try to navigate the technology. Is there one place to go to find answers, or should I bring them up one by one in this forum? Thanks in advance! :)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

See here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/cherylbalcom and note that you have created duplicates which can mean that your requests fall through the cracks.
One support issue for each thread please.
Also note that you chose a very old and non-responsive theme that I would choose to chnage to a responsive one The mobile ready theme is a default theme and a completely different theme that you do not need to enable, if your theme is listed as a responsive layout theme here https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/responsive-layout/
You can read more in the support docs at https://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/mobile-themes/
You can test your site at this link https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/

Every theme has a detailed theme description page. This one is at https://wordpress.com/theme/twentyseventeen that’s where set up instructions for it and the live demo site link is found.
All support docs are at https://en.support.wordpress.com/ where we have a search box as the most prominent feature on the page.

re: switching themes
Note that switching themes https://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/#switch-themes can be easily done, provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the site. Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. You can quickly and easily change themes on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do a lot of work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme with different features and/or if you have done any CSS editing.Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes, Browse themes until you find one you like and click the “activate” or the “preview” link, or type in the name of the theme you want to use when it appears.
The theme customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/ provides a preview function for exactly that purpose ie. so you can view what a theme will appear like prior to changing one.

@cherylbalcom Great advice from timethief here. If you get stuck on something specific, the Support docs and forums are great resources and start with the search function in each.
@tt -I think maybe something got stuck in your second message where you said
See also Five Leads for Self-Help with WordPress.com https://dailypost.wordpress.com/2016/01/14/help-with-wordpress-com/ and that’s where set up instructions for it and the live demo site link is found.
I assume that part was meant to point @cherylbalcom to her theme’s showcase page but you already did? Just FYI.

Hey, tt. No apology needed. I just wanted to let you know in case you need to change something on your end. Cheers!

Thank you so much, both of you, for your help. @timethief I did check and my theme is listed as a responsive layout here:
https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/responsive-layout/
and I did go in and enable it to change to the format of the device it’s being shown on. I really like my theme and hope I don’t have to switch it….
The links you sent will be so helpful, I will check them first to get answers to my questions.
A big one I need help with is knowing what is okay for me to share (images, specifically) without violating anyone’s copyrights?? -

You need specific written permission from copyright holders to use their images without infringing on their copyright.

Thank you! I spent a lot of time last night trying to learn how to give credit to the owner of an image. If I use a picture from a CC website, do I have to still give credit? and again, how do I do that?

Hi @cherylbalcom, many sites will have attribution tips with the image. This may help, too:
