Help!

    Hello,
I have set a wordpress website on the 17th August, 2019. First, through signing up to bluehost. However, as I have been so busy lately I was not able to work on it for a while thinking I could pick up where I left off. My surprise is that I have not been able to get access to the actual website which I have named Zhael, the one I should be seeing the dashboard panel on the left side of the screen.
I don’t really understand the (MY SITE/READER) and the purpose of it. I’m not sure if I have created two sites by mistake as it appears that the domain name I’ve created ‘zaellopes.com’ appears with an exclamation mark in red with (remove highlight).
I just would like to be back on track on working on the website without all of this confusion.
Please I would appreciate if you could identify the problem and help me with that.
    Best regards,
    Elza Lopes

  • Hello Elza,

If you set up the site with Bluehost, it means you’re using the open source WordPress software found on WordPress.org, and the site is hosted by Bluehost.

WordPress.com is a hosting provider, like Bluehost, not the same thing as the WordPress software you’re using, and your site is not hosted with us, so we cannot help you with this.

Please contact Bluehost support directly for help regaining access to your site.

My Site/Reader are the menu for the two main sections of the WordPress.com interface. You see your site listed here because when it was created at Bluehost, it was also connected to this WordPress.com account via the Jetpack plugin – Jetpack allows you to use the WordPress.com interface to manage WordPress sites hosted at other providers.

The red exclamation mark indicates that Jetpack connection is broken, which points to an issue on Bluehost’s end, so they’ll need to help you with this.
