  why are there hyper links on certain words in my web site leading people away from my site? What is the point of using workpress for my website if you are going to put in links leading viewers away from my site?

  Those ads are not placed on your site by WordPress.com. These ads are sometimes caused by malware or a virus, but more often it is due to a browser extension or toolbar that you may have installed in your browser. See here http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/09/14/bloggers-beware-of-adware/

  P.S. if you have a business blog then you also ought to consider purchasing the No-Ads upgrade so your competitors ads don’t appear on your site.
