  Goodday,
  Am using free domain but when I tried launching the site it is asking to pay for another domain please assist

  When you go to make your site live, it will ask again if you want to buy a domain name or a plan, but there are options to keep the free domain name and plan, just as there were to start your site.
  If you want to try out features of the paid plans, that will require you to upgrade, but WordPress offers a full 30-day refund on all plans if you aren’t happy with it. You can read more about plans here: https://wordpress.com/support/plan-features/
