HELP!

So I built my site using the theme Twenty Seventy which I LOVE but, the only thing driving me MAD is getting my heading image placed properly…it keeps resizing it and moving it. If I crop it to the exact size I want, it zooms it in…if I place the larger image and crop it, it doesn’t display the way I want. Is there a way to add CSS to fix the image size so it’s always displaying correctly?

Here is the image and I’ve overlayed the crop to give an idea of how I want it to show…

It doesnt have to be exact but, I don’t want it so zoomed in it crops of the log and my lips!

Sorry this is the cropped image”

  • Hey there. Any image you use as a background / header will be usually cropped depending on the screen size and orientation. If you want to use a face for a background or header, I’d recommend looking at the previews for desktop, mobile, and tablet to see where the cropping will typically hit. You can also use a different image for a background, and insert face pictures as regular images that don’t get cropped and only get resized.

If you need more help, could you send a link to the site you’re having trouble with?

  • Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Siteground.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

https://wordpress.org/support/ is a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

And, you can find support for your theme at https://wordpress.org/support/theme/twentyseventeen/
