HELP!

  I am looking at upgrading my blog to more of a blog and website.
  I know roughly what I want it to look like but I am unsure which plan I need to select.
  I am really a complete novice and need things explained really simply to me. Is there anyone I can speak with to discuss how I upgrade my account?

  Hi there,

  So you want a blog section with a news feed, but inside a more traditional website using pages? You don’t need any paid plan for that – you can set up a WordPress.com site in this way right out of the box.

  What you’ll want to do is create a new page, title it “Blog” or “News” or similar, and publish it without adding any content. Also publish a page that will serve as your homepage.

  Next, go to My Site ->Design ->Customize ->Homepage settings. There you can assign your home and blog/posts pages respectively.

  Set the Homepage

  Thank you for your reply. I will have a play. I know what I want the site to look like, it is just now working out how lay it out.

  Have fun! Feel free to create different pages before choosing one as your front page. You can experiment with block patterns, too:
