Hello,
A help request here: I am struggling to locate the option to create a static page. It does not appear in the list when I go to Readings (as instructed).
In fact the option to create a static page has appeared only once, and then never again (for my blog).
Yet I helped a friend create a blog using the same setting (Nishita) and when we went to Readings, the static page option was listed.
Where has mine gone? Please help me get it !
In appreciation

No, I still need help. I can’t seem to make my About Me appear next to the rest of my tabs. Also, my Home page is still not appearing as it first was. I really need to speak to someone about this issue. I am having a really hard time.

What is the link to the “About Me”? Does it appear on your Dashboard under “Pages” or did you just put it in your Profile? If the latter, it doesn’t actually show up anywhere at all. You have to make a static Page.

There is no link. Not that i know of. I know when i first created it, it just showed up next to the rest of my tabs. Now it’s not. This is not helping at all. Like I said, I have never used wordpress so for this to be solved, I think it would be best if i could just speak to someone. I really want to fix this problem. THank you.

You ARE speaking with someone.
Does it appear on your Dashboard under Pages? If not, you have to create a static Page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/

Yes Amy about me appears in my dashboard along with the other three tabes I have. But for some reason they all appear under the Fashion tabe. I want to make that stop. I want each tab to be separate. Also, when you go to Rustonrose.com my Home page is gone and it goes start to the Fashion page. I have tried to play around with the dashboard setting but it still will not work.

Ah, it looks as if you’ve made About a sub-page. Check the Page Attributes once you’re on the Edit Page page and see if you have set it as a child page and if so, just change that and Update http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-attributes/

Are you using a Custom Menu http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/ because you need to manually add in your pages for that case.
I see what you mean by the categories showing up “under” the Fashion tab. I think that may be part of that theme, which is one of the newer ones I’m not familiar with. http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/ever-after/
Can you check and see what Post Format your pages are in? http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-formats/

Your blog front is messed up because you’ve set the same page as your front page and as your posts page. So, for starters, go to Settings > Reading, select the page you want as your front page, select nothing as your posts page (i.e. set the “Posts page” pulldown to “–Select–“, click save Changes.

Surely that didn’t used to be possible. We never saw an error like that until about two weeks ago, that I can recall.
