  Trying to find out if wordpress is what we need to start our business and if it has the tools to create the web site were envisioning. However, when I select business to open a domain get started on building a site it wants $300.00 before I can even start. Is there a way to build before I buy the domain?

  Hi there,

  You can create a site and start adding content to it without a domain – you have already created a site and it can be accessed at the free example.wordpress.com address.

  However, if you want to use plugins or a custom theme on your site, you will need to upgrade to the Business Plan before you’ll be able to install those, regardless of whether or not you add the custom domain right away or only later.
