Hi! I paid for a package for a few years, where I think I had my domain name and I was able to upload as much media as possible. I used this while I was living abroad and wanted to document everything we did. I would love to continue to document our travels now that we are back stateside, and I am trying to best figure out how to do this. Should I start a new site? Or can I add to this one, change the name, but get a package that has some more storage than i currently have? Let me know what the best thing to do would be. Thank you! Oh! Also, I am still being charged in Euros, but I live in South Carolina. Help!

The site fritzfamilyblog.wordpress.com had an Explorer plan (previously known as Premium plan) which was canceled on 2022-07-06 and you were refunded for the same.

That’s great to hear. Documenting things is certainly adventurous as you can go back in time and relive the memories you have created. It is a great way to share your travel experiences with others as well.

Yes, you can do that. I see you have now upgraded to the Starter plan that offers 6GB of storage space but the site already has 11.7GB of media storage so you won’t be able to upload more media i.e. images. I would recommend upgrading to a higher-level plan to get more storage space. The Explorer plan offers 13GB of storage space so you will get a free space of 1.3GB after upgrading. The next higher plan is the Creator plan which offers 50GB of storage space and is suitable for a blog like yours with lots of media content.
You can go to https://wordpress.com/plans/fritzfamilytravels.com and upgrade to either Explorer or Creator (recommended) to get more storage and continue publishing more content.Also, I am still being charged in Euros, but I live in South Carolina. Help!

Well, I do not want to lose what I already have, but I really don’t want to pay a lot more money, since I will not be writing as much as I did when we lived overseas. Sure, if you don’t want to continue working on the old site and keep it as it is now at fritzfamilyblog.wordpress.com then you can start a new site and upgrade it to WordPress.com Starter plan. Do you want to move the new domain fritzfamilytravels.com and Starter plan to the new site you will be creating?
One advantage of continuing the old site is that it already has all the past content so visitors will be able to browse through old posts and search engines also love websites with more content. If your aim is to just share it with friends and family then you can definitely start a new site. -

You have created the new site fritzfamilyblog7.wordpress.com and canceled the domain fritzfamilytravels.com and the existing plan on fritzfamilyblog.wordpress.com which wasn’t needed as we could have just moved the plan and domain to the new site.
Now that you have a new site, you can upgrade it to a starter plan and register a new custom domain here https://wordpress.com/plans/fritzfamilyblog7.wordpress.com
