    Hi! 👋

I’m trying to connect my domain elevensröst.se (Punycode: xn–elevensrst-0za.se) to my WordPress.com site,

but I get the message “Domain cannot be mapped because of disallowed term.”

This domain belongs to my student project/company “Elevens Röst”, and it’s not political or violating any policy.

Could you please manually approve the domain for mapping?

    Thanks a lot! 🙏

    Hello @williamninjaboyboy,

I completely understand how important it is to use your domain, especially since it represents your student project Elevens Röst, that’s a great name, by the way!

The issue here isn’t related to policy or approval. Your domain elevensröst.se is an Internationalized Domain Name (IDN) because it includes the character ö. Currently, WordPress.com doesn’t support connecting, registering, or transferring domains that contain language-specific or special characters. That’s why you’re seeing the “disallowed term” message when trying to map it.

If you’d like to use a custom domain with your site, you’ll need one that doesn’t include such characters. You could register an alternative version directly through WordPress.com by following these steps: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/register-domain/

Once you’ve registered a domain without special characters, you’ll be able to connect it to your site smoothly.

Let me know if you would like to proceed with that!
